SegurCaixa Adeslas

SegurCaixa Adeslas is the leading non-life insurance company in Spain in the health insurance sector. It is part of the Mutua Madrileña Group and is backed by CaixaBank. The Executive Chairman is Javier Mira, and Jaume Masana is the Chief Executive Officer.

In 1990, the Agbar Group became the main shareholder of Adeslas, the leading healthcare insurance company in the Spanish market. At that point, the most significant consolidation process in Spain’s health insurance sector began, culminating in 2002 with the alliance between the Agbar Group and Malakoff Médéric, a social protection group based in France.

In 2010, Criteria, the corporate holding of La Caixa, acquired 99.77% of the company's share capital from Agbar and Malakoff Médéric, incorporating it into its insurance group. The merger between Adeslas and SegurCaixa led to a reorganization of this division: the life insurance business was centralized in what would eventually become VidaCaixa Group, while the remaining non-life business lines were grouped under SegurCaixa Adeslas.

Since July 2011, the company has been owned by Mutua Madrileña (50%) and VidaCaixa Group (49.9%), the insurance arm of La Caixa, now integrated into CaixaBank.

Today, with nearly 50 years of experience, SegurCaixa Adeslas is the clear leader in health insurance in Spain. In addition, the company operates across other non-life lines: home, accident, motor, funeral expenses, and others. The company also owns several subsidiaries, such as Adeslas Dental and Adeslas Salud, which provide specialized dental and comprehensive healthcare services respectively, as well as AgenCaixa, a commercial management firm that supports the bancassurance channel. It also holds a stake in the IMQ Group in the Basque Country, one of the leading health insurance groups in that region
