SegurCaixa Adeslas funeral insurance policies cover domestic and international transfers of the deceased, with a limitation on trips abroad to less than 60 days or of less than 90 days in the case of Decesos Plus, as well as transfer or repatriation of the deceased insured party from abroad to Spain.
When funeral insurance has not been taken out and there is a death, the law states that the deceased's relatives have to pay for and carry out the formalities involved in this process, including burial expenses.
