What does your SegurCaixa Funerals Plus insurance cover?

Comprehensive funeral service: the funeral service costs will be covered for each of the insured parties in full, in accordance with the town selected and the corresponding insured capital. This service includes:

  • Incineration or interment service (burial)

  • Coffins and funeral urns, where appropriate.

  • Sanitary and aesthetic conditioning of the deceased

  • Wake room and chapel of rest

  • Funeral car and bereavement accompaniment vehicle

  • Temporary niche according to town

  • Religious or prayer service and other complementary services such as wreaths, signature book, commemoration or other common services, according to the customs of the town in which the burial takes place

  • Documentation, procedures and certificates required for this service

Specialised funeral adviser: immediate assistance in person, with a funeral adviser tasked with taking care of everything, and they will accompany the family through advisory services and coordination of the service from beginning to end

SegurCaixa Adeslas’s repatriation or international transfer protection covers the dealings and costs for the transfer of the mortal remains of insured parties that have died abroad to the place chosen for their burial within Spanish territory. 

This coverage includes the transportation cost with one companion, paying the cost of the train, aeroplane or most suitable means of transport and the accommodation and living expenses of the companion abroad, up to the limits established in the policy. 

The cost of the repatriation of remains depends on several factors, such as the distance and type of transfer required. Aside from the economic cost, it involves complex administrative procedures, depending on the country. Therefore, it is recommendable to have an insurance policy that covers medical and funeral repatriation to offer peace of mind and avoid concerns for your loved ones.

The qualifying period is the time that elapses from the commencement of the insurance policy until some or all coverage enters into force.

In the SegurCaixa Adeslas death insurance policy, the qualifying period is one year in the event of death by suicide for all our products. If the death is caused by illness, the qualifying period varies according to the product arranged, with the maximum period applicable being up to two months. This insurance policy is aimed at people under 65 years old, both those residing in Spain and foreigners that wish to insure their repatriation in the event of death. Furthermore, since it is a mixed premium policy, it offers cost stability without significant increases due to age.

The SegurCaixa Decesos Plus insurance policy offers the advantage of combining full funeral coverage, which offers international repatriation for trips of up to 90 days, and additional services, such as extra psychological care and legal advisory services. Optionally it also offers global repatriation and the repatriation of foreigners.
