Medical insurance for foreigners in Spain: valid for the residence permit

In all cases, the foregoing must be prescribed by a doctor on the Adeslas Healthcare Provider List.

• High technology diagnostic methods such as: holter, NMR, CT scan, colonography, etc.

• Others: heart doppler, electrocardiography, electroencephalography, electromyography and ultrasound scans.

• Vaccines must be paid for by the insured party.

• Refund of 50% for rehabilitation and physiotherapy services, up to a maximum of €500 per year per person.

• Refund of 50% for chiropody services, up to a maximum of €200 per year per person.

• All pharmaceutical drugs and medication

• Injuries caused by the professional practice of any sport and/or activity

• Aesthetic and/or cosmetic treatments and operations

• Treatments or tests not verified scientifically and/or experimental treatments

• Prophylactic surgery and sex change surgery

In the event of repatriation due to death:

• Claims arising as a result of the suicide of the insured party

• Burial or funeral expenses or the cost of the coffin under Transportation or Repatriation of Remains cover

Includes the refund of 50% of rehabilitation, physiotherapy and chiropody expenses, up to a maximum of €500 per person per year for rehabilitation and physiotherapy expenses and of €200 for chiropody expenses.

To receive a refund of healthcare expenses, the insured party must submit a refund request form, together with the invoices detailing the healthcare expenses incurred, duly filled in, the prescription and the medical reports requested.

Repatriation coverage to the country of origin in the event of the death of the insured party

• May be taken out up to 70 years of age

• Aimed at people of any nationality, non-resident in Spain and with a valid Foreigner ID Number, who wish to request residency in Spain.

• The payment method shall be a single payment for the amount of the annual premium.

• The policy is for a single insured party (the policyholder and the insured party must be the same person).

On taking out Adeslas Welcome, you will immediately receive the official medical insurance certificate for the Foreigner’s Office. This document accredits that you have a valid health insurance policy for your residency procedures in Spain which complies with the requirements demanded by the Foreigners’ Office. You will receive the certificate by email, together with your policy documentation. 

Adeslas Welcome is valid throughout Spain. You can access full healthcare via the extensive Adeslas Healthcare Provider List, containing professionals, medical centres and authorised clinics. Always consult your policy conditions to discover the scope of your coverage.

You can pay Adeslas Welcome by direct debit on an annual basis. The receipt will be paid on the date of commencement of the insurance policy.

Adeslas Welcome begins on the attachment date chosen by you on taking out your insurance policy. The policy has a one-year duration and is renewed automatically for annual periods, except when the policyholder or the insurer notify their wish not to renew it in the periods envisaged in the contract terms and conditions. To maintain your protection, it is necessary to be up to date with your premium payments.
