In this case, it will be necessary to notify the responsible party so they can repair it as soon as possible.

    Dampness may appear after using a particular toilet or appliance. If suspected, the ideal approach is to stop using them or close their shut-off valves and see if the moisture subsides.

  • Take measures to mitigate damage

    The longer we take to clear the excess water, the greater the potential damage. For example, if we mop up the spilled water, the moisture will not reach the sockets or seep through to the neighbor below.

    This way, the wet items will dry as quickly as possible, reducing the possibility of mold growth. You can open the windows to let the moisture dissipate; it can even help to move furniture, appliances, and rugs affected by the damp.

    A one-off leak occurs suddenly and in a specific area, usually caused by a specific issue such as a burst pipe or an accidental leak.

    In contrast, progressive dampness develops gradually over time, appearing little by little on walls, ceilings, or floors.

    It is important to note that condensation-related dampness and ongoing leaks caused by poor condition or lack of maintenance of the property are excluded from this type of situation.
