Terms of Use of the Sign Language Interpreting Service.

 

Service definition

To contribute to the elimination of barriers and the accessibility of users with some type of auditive disability, the Spanish Sign Language Interpreting Video Service is provided so that said users can raise their queries and carry out their procedures in relation to the insurance policies marketed by Segurcaixa Adeslas (hereinafter, the “Service”). 

The user must pay special attention to these Terms of Use, which contain IMPORTANT INFORMATION on the performance of the service and which must be complied with during their use. Therefore, the user is requested to read them carefully.

 

How does this Service work?

This service is provided by SVISUAL, a video call service, put into place by the FUNDACIÓN CNSE PARA LA SUPRESIÓN DE LAS BARRERAS DE COMUNICACIÓN (Spanish State Confederation for the Deaf), enabling communication between people with auditive disability, and the Customer Services Department (hereinafter, “CSD”) of Segurcaixa Adeslas, through the deployment, via a video call platform, of a sign language interpreter.

When a user accesses the platform, they will communicate with a person that will exercise the function of a sign language interpreter who, on the user’s behalf, will contact Segurcaixa’s CSD, acting as the user’s translator. The interpreter will transmit the instructions and user information to the CSD agent.

 

Once the service is accessed, the user will be attended to by a qualified sign language interpreter, who will present and explain the interpreting process. 

 

The interpreter will take charge of simultaneously connecting with Segurcaixa Adeslas’s CSD by telephone, maintaining the connection with the user via the platform. During the communication with the CSD, information will be provided on the use of their data and the interpreter will faithfully translate the words of the sign language user to spoken language and vice versa, enabling a fluid understandable communication between both parties.

 

Spanish sign language interpreting conducted by the interpreter between the user and the CSD will have full legal validity and will be presumed to be authentic and true, unless proven otherwise by the user.

 

 

¿What are the requirements to access the service? 

 

  • Users must be over 18. 

  • The Service is free of charge.

  • The user may access the Video Interpretation Service from a video call compatible device, such as a computer, tablet or mobile telephone, via an internet connection.

 

 

How must the Service be used? (Permitted use)

 

  • The Service must only be used for the purposes envisaged: to facilitate communication between users and Segurcaixa Adeslas’s CSD. 

  • The Service may not be used for any other purpose not authorised by Segurcaixa Adeslas.

  • The user will be liable for the truth and reliability of the information and the personal data provided through the Service, which will be deemed to be accurate unless proven otherwise.

 

 

Service liability limitations 

 

Segurcaixa Adeslas shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damage resulting from the use or impossibility of using the Service. 

 

Segurcaixa Adeslas shall not assume any liability for any errors, service interruptions and translations or interpretations of incorrect sign language that may arise during the interpretation. Nor will it assume any liability in relation to the notification of inexact or erroneous data. 

 

 

Privacy 

 

SegurCaixa Adeslas, S.A. de Seguros y Reaseguros is liable for the processing of user personal data and will process them to deal with their requests. The user can consult further information on our data protection policy and, especially, on how to exercise their privacy rights at www.segurcaixaadeslas.en

 

Update and amendment 

 

SegurCaixa Adeslas reserves the right to update, amend, extend or eliminate the information, contents and service offered, at any time, including those of the service provider. 

 

Likewise, it reserves the right to amend these Terms of Use at any time, so the user is recommended to review them with reasonable frequency.
