Frequently asked questions

Your Adeslas digital card is designed to identify yourself at medical centres on the authorised Healthcare Provider List within Spain. Therefore, it is not valid outside of Spain

If you are going to travel abroad, we recommend that you check if your policy includes international coverage or travel assistance. For further information or personalised care, you can contact Adeslas’s Customer Services Department:

Yes. Thanks to IMQ’s agreements with Adeslas, you can access an extensive network of centres and professionals throughout Spain. Furthermore, in Asturias and Navarre you can also use the services of IMQ Asturias and IMQ Navarre.

Remember to take your IMQ card (physical or digital) or your State Care Certificate, which you can download from IMQ’s Online Office.

Adeslas’s physical card has a traditional plastic format which you must carry with you to identify yourself at medical centres. On the other hand, your digital card is available in your Adeslas app and allows you to access the same services from your mobile telephone, without the need to carry your physical card. Moreover, your digital card is safer since it is protected by a password or biometry, and it is also valid for video appointments and other online procedures. It is a comfortable practical sustainable option for your day-to-day dealings as an insured party.

The Gold card is associated with group policies (companies, civil servants or self-employed workers, etc.) and offers complete medical coverage without copayments.

The Platinum card is provided to individuals with premium policies, supplying exclusive services such as preventive check-ups, travel assistance, a second medical opinion and dental coverage.

If you do not have your physical card with you, you can identify yourself easily with your digital card from your mobile telephone, via the Adeslas app or from your Customer Area.

If you do not have access to either, we recommend that you contact your medical centre before your appointment so that they can indicate how to proceed. You can also call Adeslas’s Customer Services Department to obtain help.

Only if your policy includes the refund option. In this case, you can attend an unauthorised centre (in Spain or abroad) and then request an expense refund if the service in question is covered by your insurance policy within the limits set under your policy.

In this regard, you must present:

  • The invoices paid with all the details of the centre or professional.

  • Medical reports or prescriptions, if required.

  • The refund request, which you can manage easily from your Customer Area or from the Adeslas app.

If your policy does not include the refund option, you cannot recover expenses incurred at centres not included on the authorised Healthcare Provider List.

Your physical card is sent by post once your policy has commenced, although not immediately. By default, it is sent to your home address, except in the case of certain groups, whereby it is sent directly to the company in question. Meanwhile, from the Adeslas app, you can access the digital version, valid for presentation at medical centres.
